Located in either Brisbane, Rockhampton, or Townsville.Career stability and ownership of your role.Varied scope of work across the electrical sector.About the roleThe Estimator is responsible for all estimate preparation activities for QLD clients. This involves all aspects of pricing delivery, including estimate coordination, pricing strategy, preparation and review through Ventia's governance process, cost estimating, cashflow analysis and reporting, and liaison with various business units to develop and deliver competitive winning estimates and offers.
Review tender documents and coordinate tender approval.Understand the request for tender and contract to understand cost drivers for basis of estimate.Preparation of indicative pricing at bid commencement to guide appropriate governance processes.Prepare estimates, labour cost calculations, cost estimates, and quotes, understanding future influences on margin and recommend strategies to mitigate impacts/risks.Deliver pricing strategies to optimise gross margin and market competitiveness to drive success rates.Create cashflow from cost estimates and work with commercial and finance to improve cashflow.Provision of proforma pricing schedules issued to suppliers and subcontractors, and subsequent review of information to incorporation into estimate cost build.Handover and debrief of estimate build up to the finance, commercial and operations manager to assist with contract negotiations, budgeting and forecasting and implementation of the project.About you Tertiary qualification in engineering or technical area with a background of commercial and pricing strategy.Experience in energy sector (substations, BESS, Distribution, Transmission) with specific exposure to D&C and EPC contracting models.Sound understanding of estimate development process.Strong understanding of contract commercials.Ability to drive alternative pricing strategies to stay competitive/leading in a complex market.About VentiaVentia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
