As an Estimator at Backspace Living, you will have the responsibility of managing the complete estimating process for our projects. Working independently but with the support of a small, close-knit team, you will oversee the preparation of tenders, manage costings, and take charge of the purchase order process. This is a fantastic opportunity for an estimator looking for an autonomous role where you will be empowered to manage the full package of estimating activities, ensuring that all projects are accurately costed, and executed efficiently from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities: Tendering: Working with our designer and sales manager to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for new projects, working from technical drawings and specifications.Independent Management: Take full ownership of the estimating process, from initial tender to final purchase order, ensuring all aspects of costs, schedules, and resources are accurately managed.Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather quotes and ensure the most competitive and effective pricing for each project.Purchase Orders: Manage and send purchase orders to suppliers, ensuring all materials and resources are ordered and delivered on time to meet project needs.Budget Management: Working with the team to track project costs from tender stage to project completion, providing regular updates on the financial status and suggesting cost-saving opportunities.Project Coordination: Assist in the coordination of projects by providing timely updates on costs, materials, and financial progress, ensuring all financial aspects of the project are under control.Vendor Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices and service for the company.Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in the estimating process to increase efficiency and accuracy.Qualifications: Proven experience as an Estimator in the residential construction industry with the ability to work independently and manage the entire estimating process.Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, labor costs, and project budgets.Proficiency in estimating software.Excellent organisational, time-management, and communication skills.Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously while being part of a small team.Degree or certification in Construction Management or related fields is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
