We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join our thriving national procurement team in our North Melbourne office. You will be responsible for securing first class and award winning projects.
About you: This role requires an individual who is highly motivated with a keen eye for detail and the ability to 'look outside the box'. Your passion for construction and estimating processes will show through with the quality and accuracy of your work. You'll have sound technical knowledge and be able to adapt to the varied projects in our portfolio.
Advantageous to this role is at least 5 years of experience tendering defence, manufacturing, health or a variety of commercial projects valued between $5m and $70m. Proven experience pricing defence is a must.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Understanding estimating processes and systems including building practices, methodology and legislationExperience in reviewing trade quotes and the ability to seek clarification as necessaryInvolvement with post tender negotiations and reviewing tender performancesEstablished relationships with subcontractors, clients and consultantsAbility to read and interpret plans, drawings and specificationsAbility to understand and price risk and make recommendations in regards to contract cost and profitabilityAbility to review and understand contract terms and conditionsExperience using, or the ability to operate programs such as Cost X, Estimate one and MS ProjectStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience in completion of tender deliverablesA tertiary qualification in Construction Management / Quantity Surveying or similar is required.
