Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Estimator to join our clients team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs and preparing detailed proposals for our commercial, residential, industrial, and retail projects. Your expertise and proficiency in estimating will contribute to the success and profitability of our projects. You will ideally have experience working on defence projects.
Key Responsibilities: Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for bidding and budgeting purposes across various project types.Bid Preparation: Develop detailed and competitive bid proposals based on thorough analysis and evaluation of project requirements, specifications, and scope.Quantity Take-Offs: Perform detailed quantity take-offs and material pricing to support accurate cost estimates.Value Engineering: Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality or functionality.Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.Risk Assessment: Assess and mitigate potential risks associated with project estimates and proposals.Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to ensure alignment of project goals and requirements.Qualifications: GC21 certificate is highly sought after.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator with a main contractor, specifically in commercial, residential, industrial, and retail sectors.Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry practices.Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator with a main contractor, specifically in defence.Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry practices.Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?To help fast track investigation, please include here any other relevant details that prompted you to report this job ad as fraudulent / misleading / discriminatory.
