The role
You will calculate project costs across labour, material and equipment requirements and negotiate and obtain quotes from subcontractors, using this information to compile detailed cost proposals for clients.
Manage the development of tender estimates: Prepare take-offs and tender estimatesOversee the sending out of documents and request for fixed price quotations from subcontractors for each tenderSite inspection for each tenderProvide subcontractor recommendationsWork with the design team to develop budgetsSubmit tenders on time Document Control: Review RFT, client brief and design documentsPrepare scope of worksPrepare subcontractor RFTReview all addendumsRespond to & review all post tender clarifications & addendums Risk Management: Analyse subcontractor quotes comparisonsReview all subcontractor's exclusions and clarificationsCheck lead timesCheck contractor suitability and availabilityEnsure sufficient trade coverage Profit creation and financial management: ProfitabilityProfit improvement strategiesBid strategiesConversionsValue engineering About You Minimum 3 years local experience in commercial fit-out and refurbishmentAdvanced working knowledge of CostX and Estimate OneCommunication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience.Excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.Strong commercial awareness with the ability to apply knowledge in a practical manner.Accomplish objectives effectively within given time frames and carry out all duties in an efficient and timely mannerWillingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members.
