Job Description About the role: The Estimator will be responsible for preparing cost estimates for Budget and Tender submissions for our energy Infrastructure bids. The key duties include but are not limited to:
Preparing preliminary cost estimates from plans and client requests and specifications Developing spreadsheets for costing labour and materials in meeting tender requirements Preparing tenders and proposals Identifying contract / cost options for profitable and sustainable tenders Interpreting plans and drawings to enable accurate estimating and pricing Undertaking critical review of engineering drawings Assisting/providing input as requested into supply and subcontract agreements Reviewing contract performance, with a view to identifying more effective contract options Preparing post-submission responses to client for the clarification of matters Identifying, evaluating, and recommending potential contractual opportunities Providing input into improving policies and systems for the estimating of tenders & proposals Compiling Historical data on projects under construction Reviewing of tender project documents and estimate to compile a comprehensive list of Assumptions and Qualifications Preparing reviews and lessons learnt on unsuccessful tenders Preparing handover packages of successful tenders to the project execution team Providing assistance and participating during regular project commercial progress meetings Desired Skills and Experience About you: The successful applicant will be a clear communicator, have a proactive outlook, and be results and timeline driven. The successful applicant will have the following:
Relevant Tertiary Qualification (disciplines include): Quantity Surveying Project Management Civil & Construction Engineering (Diploma or Degree) Minimum of 3 years' experience in Estimating Demonstrated knowledge of relevant work stream categories, coupled with industry exposure and critical skills ability Clear and definitive communication – written and verbal Understanding of the construction process Competency in the use of Microsoft Office and all relevant in-house software First-class communication and relationship building skills that continue to inspire and motivate individuals and teams Commitment to quality and accuracy in everything you do #J-18808-Ljbffr
