DutiesProducing high quality estimates and quotation documentation for building projects, ensuring compliance with the State Purchasing Policy, Minor Works, local instructions and tendering and contract methods, and client requirements.Undertaking research and development in project planning, budgeting, estimating, programming, delivery processes and procurement practices.Reporting on relevant estimating projects and/or programs providing information on volume, requests, clients, locations, acceptance rates, costs, schedule of rates, margins, and productivity.Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety.Enhancing client relationships through effective communication, sound negotiation and the provision of timely, professional, competitive estimates.Successful CandidateProven Ability:
- Apply best estimating practices, interpret, plan, and prepare accurate building estimates.
- Working knowledge of contemporary estimating methods used in the building, construction, and maintenance industry, including associated legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using estimating software and computer packages.
