YOUR Next Employer is a reputable builder with continued client relationships that result in repeat work. Working predominantly across fit out & refurbishment projects across the commercial, retail, health, hospitality, education & government sectors, typically up to $5M in value. Due to ongoing success and building strong relationships with their clients an opportunity has arises for a strong Estimator to join their close knit team.
YOUR Role will be to:
Work as an integral part of the Estimating team, tendering on projects up to $5M in value.
Undertake a mix of negotiated and hard dollar tenders.
Prepare BOQ's, take offs, purchase orders & post-contract variations.
Accurate and timely trade breakups of documentation, appropriate trade subcontractor selection lists, and liaising with subcontractors to ensure they have a full understanding of the required scope of works and program. Ensuring quality & integrity of estimates produced. Identify levels of contingency & risk for managerial assessment.
YOUR Experience should include:
At least 3 - 5 years of previous estimating experience ideally across Design & Construct as well as hard dollar tenders.
Tertiary qualifications in construction or quantity surveying.
Experience estimating Design & Construct commercial fit-out/refurbishment.
Ability to estimate in first principal.
Ability to engage with subcontractors and develop loyal and ongoing relationships.
A thorough understanding of the building process and reading of construction drawings to enable accurate pricing.
Ability to accurately produce reasonable and appropriate rates with available information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen an eye for detail is essential.
