YOUR Next Employer is a reputable builder with continued client relationships that result in repeat work. Working predominantly across fit out & refurbishment projects across the commerical, retail, health, hospitality, education & government sectors, typically up to $5M in value. Due to ongoing success and building strong relationships with their clients an opportunity has arises for a strong Estimator to join their close knit team.
YOUR Role will be to work as an integral part of the Estimating team, tendering on projects up to $5M in value. They underake a mix of negotiated and hard dollar tenders. In this role you will be supported by those around you and be responsible for:
Preparing BOQ's, take offs, purchase orders & post contract variationsAccurate and timely trade break ups of documentation, appropriate trade subcontractor selection lists, and liaising with subcontractors to ensure they have a full understanding of the required scope of works and programmeEnsuring quality & integrity of estimates produced Identify levels of contingency & risk for managerial assessment
YOUR Experience will be working with a previous building construction company working on a variety of commercial projects. You will have at least 3 - 5 years of previous estimating experience ideally across Design & Construct as well as hard dollar tenders.
Tertiary qualifications in construction or quantity surveyingExperience estimating Design & Construct commercial fitout/ refurbishmentAbility to estimate in first principalAbility to engage with subcontractors and develop loyal and ongoing relationshipsA thorough understanding of the building process and reading of construction drawings to enable accurate pricingAbility to accurately produce reasonable and appropriate rates with available information Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen an eye for detail is essential
