About the Client: This home-building company empowers customers to personalize their designs, encouraging them to make changes in red ink on house plans. With trained sales staff who can quickly draft revisions, clients can easily transform their visions into reality by visiting display homes or contacting the sales team.
About the Role: WorkPac is seeking an estimator to join our client in Bunbury. The role involves managing both Sales and Production Estimating for new builds, focusing on accurately interpreting plans, negotiating with suppliers, and supporting the Sales and Construction teams throughout the build process.
Key Responsibilities: Manage both Sales Estimating and Production Estimating for all new builds. Accurately interpret plans and drawings to assemble the Bill of Quantities and break down costs in a timely manner. Research materials and negotiate the best deals and supplier agreements. Assist in the creation of tendering offers for new builds. Provide timely and ongoing communications with the Sales and Construction teams to support the build process and achieve build targets, including handling variations to plans and materials impacting costs. Monitor the progress of the construction process using the works management system (Click Homes) and update tasks for appropriate action and resolution in line with build timeframes. Resolve estimating-related issues and escalate to the appropriate Supervisor/Manager when necessary. Handle Display Home Estimating as required. Develop and foster relationships with suppliers, sub-contractors, and other resources, including undertaking minor negotiations in consultation with the relevant Supervisor/Manager. Ensure compliance with safe work practices and processes. Skills and Experience Required: Proficiency in estimating software and tools, including Blue Beam, Costing Manager, and Data Build. Strong understanding of construction processes and materials. Excellent analytical skills to accurately interpret plans and drawings. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with teams and stakeholders. Negotiation skills to secure favorable agreements with suppliers. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines. Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance in the construction industry. Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accuracy in estimates and reports. Problem-solving skills to address issues as they arise during the estimating and construction processes.
