An opportunity has now arisen for them to appoint an experienced Civil Estimator to their team.RoleAs the Civil Estimator, you will be responsible for providing detailed estimates and comprehensive scope of works to Senior Management and the project delivery team to assist with the planning, costing, and scheduling of a range of civil construction projects.
Working closely with the Leadership team, you will manage all aspects of the tendering & estimating lifecycle, ensuring costs are competitive without compromising on quality, while providing leadership and guidance to the delivery team including other estimators and engineers to cultivate a collaborative and high-performing team.As an Estimator, your role will include the following responsibilities:Prepare comprehensive and precise tenders, encompassing first-principle estimating, quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and project scheduling.Conduct in-depth analysis of tender documents, evaluate alternative construction methods, and propose innovative solutions to improve bid competitiveness.
Ensure all calculations, correspondence, and methodologies are accurately documented and up to date.Identify and assess project risks and opportunities, emphasizing critical factors and outlining effective risk mitigation strategies.Conduct tender review meetings with Senior Management.Manage the seamless handover of successful tenders to Project Managers & the delivery team by providing thorough documentation and ongoing support.Foster strong working relationships with external stakeholders such as suppliers and subcontractors to utilize a broad range of expertise and improve the accuracy of tenders.Extensive technical expertise in interpreting engineering and construction drawings and plans.BackgroundWe are seeking a candidate who is considered, has a strong attention to detail, experience with estimating software (expert ideal), and can hold your own communication-wise throughout the tender process.
