Exciting opportunity available for an Essential Safety Measures Systems Specialist to join the VBA.
Permanent, full-time position Salary from $177,488 per annum plus superannuation 242 Exhibition Street Melbourne office location Position overview An exciting and challenging opportunity that will suit a seasoned Essential Safety Measures Systems Specialist who thrives in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
The Essential Safety Measures (EMS) Systems Specialist has an important role in industry oversight and improvement by identifying and managing compliance risks, educating practitioners and developing internal capacity in the area of ESMs. The role is responsible for overseeing and qualifying compliant practices and documentation requirements for ESM installed in class 2 to class 9 buildings, including undertaking audit and inspections. The ESM Systems Specialist provides technical advice and requirements for ESM safety related matters to Practitioners, various stakeholders and Building Managers.
The role will support the Office of the State Building Surveyor on a range of high-level strategic issues relating to ESMs in the building and plumbing industry, regulatory frameworks and key stakeholder relationships.
The ESM Systems Specialist is responsible for delivering high-level technical knowledge, training and advice to VBA staff around identified building fire safety issues and requirements, assisting with control and closure of identified non-compliance matters, providing advice and training about the documentation requirements to achieve compliance and to provide high-level reporting within the business.
