Kestrel is one of the world's largest producing underground coking, or metallurgical coal mines and produces around 7 million tonnes of metallurgical coal annually.
Our coal is shipped to key markets in Asia and Europe to be used in the steel making process.
The mine is located in the Bowen Basin, approximately 40km Northeast of Emerald in Central QLD.
Our team's capability covers the entire mining process, from development to extraction and processing, environmental management and sustainable rehabilitation.
We have an approved life of mine until 2033 and reserves to 2046 with the potential to increase further.

We currently have multiple opportunities for suitably qualified ERZ Controllers / Deputies to join the Kestrel Coal Resources Team on a 7/7 rotating roster.
These roles are responsible for ensuring statutory compliance, leading and maintaining a positive safety culture whilst maintaining a strong focus on continuous improvement, problem solving and efficient outcomes.
