If we inspire you to do the work you love, will you still call it work?
At EY we believe that whoever you are, your uniqueness helps us stand apart. We bring together extraordinary people, like you, to build a better working world.
What's in it for you?
In a fast-paced, and increasingly complex world, our clients need our help to navigate complexity. They seek commercial, practical and technically compliant accounting solutions and timely, reliable and insightful information, to underpin their current business activities and inform their ongoing strategies. More than ever, business is about interpreting complex data to provide relevant insights to manage and mitigate business risks and capture strategic opportunities. Our clients look to us for guidance and services they can trust.
As a Senior Manager in our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team, you will work with a wide range of clients on a broad range of issues that matter to their businesses. These will include middle market businesses through to some of the world's largest companies. You will assist our clients as they experience significant changes and may include preparing for significant transactions (both sale and purchase), assisting with preparing for financial audits or audit remediation.
This could be a fantastic career opportunity for someone with a strong Audit background who is looking to transition into a role with an advisory focus. We will equip you with leading-edge tools and resources to continue building on your technical expertise, whilst leveraging your problem-solving and creative thinking abilities to provide practical, hands-on support, guidance, and solutions to address our clients' financial accounting and reporting challenges.
We are looking for Senior Managers to join our Brisbane and Perth teams. These roles are open to individuals with valid Australian working rights.
Your key responsibilities
Proactively lead all aspects of engagements including planning, approach, stakeholder management, commercial engagement outcomes, risk management and building and maintaining high performing teams (including coaching and mentoring). Work collaboratively with our clients on a wide range of engagements such as understanding and assessing the impact of current, proposed new or revised accounting standards (AAS, IFRS) on an entity's business, their transactions and their financial accounting and reporting, and assisting them to practically interpret and implement solutions. Working as an integral part of the client's deal team across the transaction's lifecycle (including pre deal and post deal) to provide insights on the potential accounting impacts and outcomes, e.g., IPO, equity/debt raising, acquisitions, divestments, and financial buy-side and sell-side due diligence. Further, you will assist with post deal implementation related accounting and reporting matters. Participating in overall practice strategy development and leading strategy execution. Realising business development plans through strong professional networks and preparing and delivering proposals. Developing and maintaining long-term productive client relationships. What we're looking for
Here's our 'wish list' but don't worry if you don't tick all the boxes. We're interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go.

A self-starter who is open-minded and has a desire to learn. Intellectual curiosity, strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS, AAS) and a demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex concepts. Ability to clearly articulate complex accounting concepts and issues to non-specialists and work collaboratively with clients and across EY service lines. Strong business writing skills (formal and informal). A demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong and broad client relationships. A proven ability to identify, develop and capture business opportunities. A desire to develop the teams and demonstrated coaching ability. Ideally, you'll also have:
