12 Month Contract + 2 X 6 Month Extension NV1 or NV2 Clearance Canberra, Melbourne or Adelaide + WFH Our Client, an established federal government department is seeking an eResearch Program Delivery Manager to oversee the planning, execution and management of multiple complex Digital Science and Scientific Computing solutions to deliver S&T capability.
Reporting to the Discipline Lead eResearch Portfolio and Resourcing, the eResearch Program Delivery Manager is expected to work autonomously under broad direction.
Key duties and responsibilities will include: Planning and designing the program and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action; Developing all the core program artefacts and supporting project managers to develop fit-for-purpose project artefacts; Supporting the organisational change manager to define, develop and implement fit-for-purpose organisational change management and communications artefacts; Work closely with the program sponsor, executive leadership, cross-functional teams and assigned project managers to define the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget and timing for new initiatives; Lead multiple S&T5 eResearch project managers to deliver S&T capability through DSSC projects; Partner with researchers to understand their requirements and target research outcomes to track the alignment of project deliverables to their needs.
Monitor project progress within the program and oversee eResearch Delivery Managers ensuring schedules, budgets and overall outcomes are achieved; Secure and allocate financial resources, working within an allotted program budget and monitoring spend, making appropriate adjustments within agreed limits; Identify and manage key dependencies and interfaces between projects within the program; Evaluate and manage program risks and issues; Ensuring effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the program; Uplifting the program governance arrangements; Apply the agreed delivery framework for the solution in order to ensure that solutions are defined, developed, governed and managed in a consistent manner; Organise and lead meetings as required; Actively engage with all stakeholders during delivery and communicate effectively on program progress and deliverables.
This may involve engaging with research, Defence, industry and academia stakeholders; Provide advice and feedback for continual process improvement.
Our ideal candidate will have the following attributes, skills and experience: Proven track record in successfully leading projects and programs to be on-time, on-schedule and within budget; Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence; Demonstrated decisiveness in resolving business problems, identifying priorities and making decisions; Familiarity with various project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall etc) and the ability to adapt the approach based on the project or program; Strong leadership qualities to guide and motivate a diverse team; Knowledge of One Defence First Principles (ODFP); Strong experience in presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff and all levels of management; Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical problem-solving capabilities.
As part of the Digital Science (DS) Branch the eResearch Portfolio and Resourcing Directorate (ePRP) is responsible for the delivery of complex ICT projects in support of research outcomes.
The team comprises of a number of Program/ Project Managers and Project Management Office staff located in various locations across Australia.
This diverse team works collaboratively to manage the delivery of a vast range of ICT infrastructure and complex research system projects.
