About the officeThe Curriculum & Quality Office is responsible for the transformation of learning and teaching at the University through learning innovations, with an emphasis on expert pedagogy, instructional design, quality and digital technologies to enhance the student learning journey and meet the University's Objects and strategic direction as a Catholic university.
About the roleThe position is responsible for widening participation initiatives with a particular emphasis on engagement of students from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, low socio-economic, and regional and remote backgrounds.
The appointee will build strategic internal and external relationships and lead the development of programs and supports for current and prospective students from the identified cohorts within the Curriculum & Quality Office.
Reporting to the Manager, Student Equity.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement outreach and access initiatives that engage prospective students from cohorts traditionally underrepresented in higher education primarily, low socioeconomic backgrounds, regional and remote Australia, and First Nations students.Design and embed ongoing initiatives that support, engage and retain equity cohorts to succeed within the University from admission to graduation.Provide leadership and guidance to Student Equity staff and Student Ambassadors to deliver program objectives.Work collaboratively with academic and professional staff across the University to advise on best-practice activities, policy and funding requirements, and enable coordinated responses.Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders that increase opportunities for widening participation.Maintain awareness of higher education policy and best practice regarding student equity, as well as engagement with sector colleagues.Monitor and report on initiatives, including student progress and completion, to evaluate effectiveness of programs and meet reporting obligations.Qualifications, skills & experienceA degree with at least 4 years relevant experience in, or extensive experience and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of the social determinants of education.Ability to build partnerships with diverse stakeholders both internal and external.Knowledge of the higher education sector, primarily in the areas of student equity and success.Excellent project management skills including demonstrated ability to contribute to long-term planning and key strategic directions.Ability to plan and organise for successful delivery of key projects.Proficient in computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, online collaboration and project management tools and common software applications.Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.BenefitsMultiple public transport options on your door stop.Generous training and development opportunities.Friendly and collaborative working environment.How to applyPlease apply online with a resume and cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.
