Avondale University is seeking expressions of interest for casual expertise in our Equity and Disability office.

In this role you will play a vital role in fostering an inclusive Avondale by ensuring equitable access and support for students to grow, develop and stretch the boundaries of their potential. You will promote accessibility, provide guidance on compliance with regulations, and collaborate with academic and administrative departments to create a welcoming, supportive environment for all.
What will you do?
Some of the main duties will include:
Assist with developing goals, objectives and action plans for the implementation of an increasingly inclusive and equitable teaching and learning environment; Assist students who have disabilities to ensure their learning and assessment needs are equitably and reasonably addressed through the development of a Reasonable Adjustment Plan (RAP); Liaise with the Equity Office team and academic staff when constructing a student's RAP; Liaise with the academic office when preparing student's special provision requests for final exams; Consult with students on equity, disability, and discrimination issues; Consult with, and advise staff on equity, disability and discrimination issues; Essential criteria
Relevant degree; Up-to-date knowledge of equal employment opportunity, disability standards, discrimination, and associated regulations; Ability to develop and implement equal opportunity and diversity policies and programs; Competence with MS Office suite; Strong communication and organisational skills; Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines; Cooperate with all work health & safety policies and procedures related to the work being undertaken and ensure their actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of others at Avondale. Promote a safe workplace and identify unsafe practices; Support the mission, values, and ethos of Avondale. Desirable criteria
Previous experience in an Equity / Disability / EEO / Diversity position; Working knowledge of the Disability Standards for Education 2005 (DSE); Previous experience in a tertiary institution. For further information about the role, please email Avondale University's People and Culture Manager at .
