You'll perform testing, inspection, operation, repair, and calibration of a wide range of tools and equipment, such as height safety, lifting equipment, EWP, insulating tools and covers, portable electrical equipment, operating equipment, voltage detectors and instruments.You'll proactively contribute to the overall safety through communication, personal actions and compliance with relevant policies, processes, and practices. You are accountable for personal safety which will help ensure the ongoing safety of all Energy Queensland team members and community members alike, while getting to see all Queensland has to offer.This role requires you to travel up to 10 - 15 weeks a year.While on the road you will have opportunities for overtime and receive applicable 'living away from home' allowances such as Tool, Test and an annualised general allowance for working in the field, see below:Living away from home – includes meal and overnight allowance: $2,400 (based on 10 - 15 weeks per annum).Tool allowance: $1,632 (per annum).Test allowance: $1,678 (per annum).Annualised allowance: $803 (per annum).The remuneration for your new role 9-day fortnight role is from $113K to $133K + 14.75% superannuation + Allowances (as advised above) depending on experience.About youYou must hold, or are close to completing, your QLD Electrical Fitter Mechanic Licence.You have a demonstrated ability to work positively in a team environment and are capable of performing physical activities, involving manual handling.Your current knowledge of relevant standards and application of tools, plant and equipment used within the Electricity Supply Industry as well as your ability to diagnose faults and advise/implement solutions, will be crucial to your success in this role.It would be great if you hold licences in HR, Forklift Operator, Doggers, Height Safety/lifting and/or EWP operation and have experience in instrument calibration and high voltage testing.The successful candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment medical.What matters most to us is our values, We're Safe – We Belong - We Grow - We Deliver.
