EPSA is seeking an Environmental Advisor to be employed by the company on a full-time permanent basis. This is your chance to unlock your full potential and make a lasting impact. About the role: Evaluate the sustainability and environmental impacts on mining operations. Routine sampling and monitoring of biogas from landfill. Data interpretation and analysis. Performing and reviewing engineering calculations. Operating and maintaining field sampling equipment. Preparation of technical reports, plans, specifications, and proposals. Supporting the field teams in delivering monitoring services as needed. Plan and execute restoration projects for old or active landfills to minimise environmental impacts, including soil and groundwater contamination. Implement environmental engineering techniques to stabilise landfills and promote the recovery of materials and resources. Design and carry out revegetation programs to restore areas affected by mining, using native species and techniques that promote biodiversity and ecological stability. Supervise the soil preparation, planting, and maintenance of revegetated areas to ensure the long-term success of restoration efforts. Conduct regular environmental impact assessments of mining operations, with a particular focus on water quality and the health of restored ecosystems. Prepare compliance reports and manage the necessary documentation for local and national regulatory authorities. Work in collaboration with other technical departments and regulatory authorities to coordinate projects and resolve environmental issues. Evaluate the effectiveness of current environmental practices and propose continuous improvements to increase the sustainability of operations. Lifestyle: This is a DIDO or BIBO role, and you will be based on site at the Commodore Mine in Millmerran, Queensland. To be successful you will have: Certificate S11. Current QLD Coal Mine Workers Health Scheme Assessment, or willingness to complete along with a Pre-Employment Medical. Current Australian Drivers Licence. Tertiary qualifications in relevant science or environmental discipline. 5 years' experience in open cut mining operations within the coal industry. Operational experience and knowledge of industry safety and environmental risks. In depth knowledge and application of state and federal environmental legislation and standards. Proven experience in environmental management systems and their practical application. Demonstrate adept project management and contractor management abilities. Demonstrated experience in the application of HSE tools and techniques. Experience in preparing documentation and compliance reports for regulatory agencies. Proficiency in the use of environmental modeling and analysis software. Ability to conduct environmental impact assessments and audits. Knowledge in water treatment technologies, waste management, and remediation techniques. Hands-on experience in planning and executing ecological restoration and revegetation projects. Skills in environmental risk assessment and proposing technical solutions. Strong ethical commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.
