About this role We have an opportunity for a Senior Biostatistician to join the Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence to contribute to population health and broader public health objectives. The Senior Biostatistician will provide expert advice on data management, weighting, analyses and presentation of survey data, and support the refinement and optimisation of surveys, including the development of methodological trials. Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $120,859 - $133,183 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week. Responsibilities: Lead and contribute to the data management, weighting, analyses and presentation pipeline for survey data managed by the team. Support the refinement and optimisation of surveys, including the development of proposals to trial methodological changes. Develop and manage relationships and partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Support the use of survey data to inform population health policy and program decision making, and to monitor and evaluate policies and programs. About you We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with: Postgraduate qualifications in survey statistics, social (quantitative) research, psychology, market research, data science, biostatistics, econometrics or equivalent experience. A growth mindset, and commitment to continuous learning and personal development. A solid understanding and demonstrated experience with developing and optimising weighting strategies for sample surveys, especially within SAS or R programming languages. A solid understanding of sample survey design processes and demonstrated experience with the analyses of data arising from complex survey designs. Flexibility and willingness to work in an agile team environment.
