The Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academy (CYAAA) has a vacancy for a Head of Campus to be located at Hopevale Campus in Hope Vale.

This role is offered on a temporary full-time basis for a period of 6 months, unless otherwise determined.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months. About the AcademyWelcome to Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academy. The Academy (CYAAA) is a partnership between the Department of Education and Training and Good to Great Schools Australia, showcasing their comprehensive education model.
The Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academy (the Academy) operates two campuses in Coen and Hope Vale. Our vision is to deliver 'best of both worlds' educational opportunities to our students to support their bicultural identity while preparing them to succeed in high quality secondary boarding school.
We invest in developing and implementing quality programs that respond to the needs of our students and continue to develop our highly skilled teaching team. CYAAA Hopevale and Coen Campuses incorporate the teaching pedagogy of Direct Instruction. Ideally, the successful applicant will have some knowledge of this pedagogy as well as a deep understanding of the Australian Curriculum.
About the RoleAs the Head of Campus you will report to the Academy Principal. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision implementing a Direct Instruction pedagogy.Be a strong instructional leader focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.Develop quality relationships with our students, our parents, and importantly, with the school community.Uphold the Principalship as a values-based, ethical and moral activity.Embed socially just practices in daily school life.Set high standards for student and staff performance.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
