Job DescriptionJOB OVERVIEW: The Graduate Electrical Engineer will assist in maintenance and project work, supporting technical, compliance, and tender activities.
This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and development opportunities for a newly qualified electrical engineer while contributing to the project's engineering and project functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION:Area Position Responsibilities SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT Be proactive in identifying hazards, developing safety procedures, and encouraging continuous improvement in relation to HSE.Ensure that all electrical work is performed by and supervised by holders of electrical work licence appropriate to the work.Assist in identifying hazards, advising on safety procedures, and monitoring work practices to ensure adherence to correct procedures and standards for safety and environmental performance.Support the Espec PH and Kolsen Group corporate quality, safety, health, and environmental management systems.Report to your Manager or QHSE Manager any situation that could result in harm to a person, the environment or may adversely affect the services we provide our customers.Understand and support the annual QHSE objectives.Immediately pause or make safe any work condition or activity that could result in immediate harm and notify the responsible line manager and the QHSE adviser or Director.Lead and promote the implementation of the integrated management systems for Quality, Safety, Health and the Environment.CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS Communicate with clients to understand their needs, help plan work and keep them informed on project progress.
Address any concerns or issues with the support of project engineer manager.OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE Help develop cost-effective engineering solutions by reviewing project documentation and raising queries.Work under the guidance of project engineer manager to ensure the delivery of the projects meets required standards.TENDER COMPILATION / TRANSITION TO OPERATIONS Assist in reviewing tender documentation and drawings, calculate costings and take-offs for tenders, contracts and proposals - lump sum, schedule of rates etc.
to be reviewed by Project Manager.Develop contacts with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing information (e.g.
applicable rates and industry norms) to use in estimating.Visit sites and liaise with clients to obtain information for tendering and estimating.QUALITY Assist in maintaining project documentation and quality records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ISO Standards.Support the preparation of Manufacturer Data Reports and other quality documentation under guidance.PEOPLE AND TEAMS Maintain a high level of communication and cooperative working relationships with operational teams.OTHER Undertake other tasks to support the project or business operations as required.Adhere to the Direction, Competence, Opportunity, and Motivation (D-COM) principles.Desired Skills and ExperienceSELECTION CRITERIA: ESSENTIALS: Recent Graduate with bachelor's in electrical engineering.Experience in electrical trade and understanding of the trades and disciplines involved in site operations.Working knowledge and practical application of relevant (latest editions) Statutory Requirements, State Legislation, Australian Standards and Site Requirements.Strong understanding of scheduling and optimising production out of work crew.Proficiency in MS Office, and MS Project.DESIRABLE: Site-based experience in engineering and construction industry / a maintenance industrial environment or heavy industry.Written communication skills – able to prepare work reports and job instructions.Interpersonal / verbal communication skills - communicates effectively with the full range of people involved on and off site.Willing to work on a wide range of tasks involving on and off-site work and often irregular hours. #J-18808-Ljbffr
