The Campus Operations & Services team provides the highest quality facility management services to support the teaching, research, and commercial activities for Murdoch University. It oversees maintenance and strategic asset management planning for the University for the short, medium, and longer term.
Your New Role! We are currently seeking expressions of interest to join Murdoch University as a casual Facility Services Officer in 2025!
The Facility Services Officer forms part of the FM Helpdesk who oversee the reception for contractors, staff and students to deliver responsive administrative functions and customer service excellence at Murdoch University. The role provides a service centre for the University community to enable the reporting of all facility and maintenance faults, repairs, and service requests relating but not limited to security, parking, grounds, cleaning, waste, and logistics. Standard hours for the position run from 7:30am - 4:30pm.
Due to operational requirements and the nature of this position, a work-from-home arrangement is not feasible for this role. Key Responsibilities: Providing communication lines with customers, contractors, and internal personnel to streamline and optimise the process of logging, assigning, scheduling, and ensuring the follow-up on outstanding work requests.Delivering high quality reception service to both external and internal customers, acting as the central point of contact for the University on Facilities Management.Evaluating and relaying critical service interruptions to the broader university and relevant stakeholders through the development of intranet notifications, alert banners, and email communications, ensuring the timely dissemination of important information.Ensuring contractors are administratively compliant, adhering to Murdoch working guidelines and regulations including maintaining and auditing the electronic register of attendance.Managing the key management system and automated KeyWatcher cabinet; including but not limited to governance of high-risk keys, access cards, audits, reporting, key reservations, and authorisations.Please refer to the Position Description for further details.
