The Branch

ONI's Analytical Tradecraft and Product branch manages the delivery of analytical insights to customers, ensures the quality and rigour of products, and builds organisational analytical capabilities.
The National Intelligence Academy also sits within the branch.
The Creative section brings together creative professionals and graphic designers who work together to manage ONI's brand identity and produce a wide range of material, including analytical placemats, complex visualisations, customised maps and charts, corporate documents, reports and branded templates, signage and goods.
The team consistently delivers high-quality material at pace.Salary: $141,719 - $168,910 (Plus 15.4% superannuation)Location: CanberraThis EOI opportunity is only available to current APS employees with a current TSPV/TSPA security clearanceThe Roles

As Director, Creative you will lead how ONI uses visual communications to deliver analytical insights to ministers and other senior customers, as well as how we represent ourselves through our brand and other published material.
You will lead a team of creative professionals and work with leaders across ONI to drive the use of graphically enriched analysis and ensure all visual content aligns with our brand identity and strategic goals.
We are looking to fill the role on a temporary basis for six or twelve months due to planned parental leave.Key Attributes

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:A proven ability to lead a team of creative professionals to deliver high-quality outputs, including under time pressureA strong understanding of creative design, brand identity management, visual communications, art direction, data visualisation and/or graphic designStrong negotiation, liaison and communication skills, with the ability to work with and influence colleagues, senior organisational leaders and external partners to ensure the prioritised delivery of activities and outcomesA proven ability to foster and shape a positive team culture and to support team members' professional development and growthA demonstrated record of integrity, accountability and support for organisational diversity and inclusionDesirable but not essential:A sound understanding of ONI's work and Australia's international and national security environmentRelevant design or creative professional qualifications and/or experienceCandidate Information Kit
