About the officeThe School of Education (Fremantle and Sydney) offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including initial teacher education for early childhood, primary and secondary teachers, and postgraduate programs in early childhood, leadership and management, curriculum, special learning needs and religious education.
About the roleThis role is responsible for leadership and management on the Sydney campus of the university. This role will also work closely with the Deputy Head of School on the Fremantle campus. The position reports to the National Head of School, Education.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and assist in the implementation of the School's courses and programs at the campus including contributing to quality assurance and achievement of targets.Contribute to the performance of the School in relation to Learning and Teaching, and Research.In consultation with the National Head of School and the Faculty Manager, contribute to the financial management of the National School through relevant financial delegation.Manage staff of the school located on the Sydney campus in the context of University delegation, including supervision, workload and leave management.Represent and lead the school in campus-based setting providing local responsiveness to and with – campus-based Committees, external stakeholders and or industry partners.Assist in training, and Community Engagement in the context of organisational and Faculty strategies.Qualifications, skills & experienceMeet the requirements for an Academic Classification Level C or above.Excellent academic and research qualifications and a recognised record of scholarly achievement.Possession of a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing.Successful track record of higher education leadership and management.Demonstrated track record in the scholarship of learning and teaching, with a focus on best practice pedagogies, digital approaches and related industry engagement.Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.BenefitsGenerous training and development opportunities.Friendly and collaborative working environment.Discounted study at the University.How to applyPlease apply online with a resume and cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.
