Role HighlightsFull-time 6-month term vacancySalary packaging + EAP support for you and your family + 11.5% SuperannuationSupport the achievement of strategic goals and performance outcomes for DCPThe Department for Child Protection is seeking a Principal Quality and Safeguarding Officer to join on a full-time term basis.
The role is responsible for:
Leading the implementation of quality assurance, quality governance and client risk mechanisms for DCP.Providing expert clinical, evidence-based strategic advice related to quality and safeguarding.Attending regular meetings with DCP executives and providing comprehensive briefings on all reported significant incidents in preparation for the weekly Minister's Meeting.Overseeing and leading the coordination and reporting functions of the Significant Incident Reporting Unit, and delivery of the Quality Assurance and Practice Audit Program.About You We are looking for an experienced practitioner with a strong background in successfully driving complex change alongside operational and corporate teams.
Our ideal candidate will have significant experience in child protection practice as well as in managing quality improvement programs, projects and policy development.
Key to your success will be your strong knowledge of safeguarding, quality governance and quality improvement methodology.
Proven expertise in delivering clear, comprehensive briefings and advice on complex child protection, safeguarding, and quality issues is ideal.

Special ConditionsEssential Qualifications: A degree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
