About the role/ Position PurposeThe School seeks expressions of interest from academics who have a passion for teaching. Teaching opportunities are available on a sessional basis in the Tertiary Pathway Program (TPP).
We are looking for sessional academic tutors with subject matter expertise in at least one or more of the following areas:
Essential MathsHuman BiologyResearch SkillsAcademic WritingCommunication SkillsKey ResponsibilitiesConduct teaching to the standard of the Pathways programs, including preparation for the tutorials and facilitating discussions to enhance student engagement.Consult with students in relation to pre-tutorial tasks, weekly topics, and upcoming assessments.Participate in assessment activities, including marking, moderation, and providing feedback to students within the prescribed timeframes.Comply with policies and procedures in all aspects of their work and conduct, particularly the Staff Code of Conduct.Undertake Professional Development as arranged by the National Director of the Program.Provide a high level of pastoral care to students.Selection CriteriaEssential Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.Qualifications A Master's degree and experience in Teaching in university pathway programs.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to teach small tutorial groups and engage students in their learning.Ability to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes including online delivery.A keen interest in maintaining currency in scholarship and professional practice.Ability to, or a willingness to learn how to, incorporate technology (e.g. Blackboard, Zoom, email, internet) into teaching and learning.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team.Ability to assess priority of tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines in a busy education environment.Evidence of a high level of pastoral care to students.Enquiries about the role: Please contact Anita Zele at ****** by quoting the Job title and reference number in the subject line.
