Our Defence and Regional Security (DRS) team is growing, and we are recruiting for an Environmental Scientist to join the Canberra team.
As an Environmental Scientist in Defence and Regional Security (DRS), you will take an active role in leading the delivery of projects. This will include supporting the successful management and co-ordination of environmental assessments, field sampling programs, and report writing. You will provide mentoring to graduates in the team in relation to the broad skills required of a consultant, both technical and softer skills. You will also take an active role in business development, helping to build and sustain client relationships that secure repeat work.
Responsibilities: Planning and execution of simple to moderately complex projects, providing technical guidance to support others on such projects, and performing project management and client-facing roles where appropriate.In-depth knowledge of the Commonwealth regulatory framework and familiarity with the technical elements of the environmental assessment processes within your State or Territory.Leading simple pursuits and providing support as a bid team member for more complex opportunities.Providing support to more senior staff in moderately complex and complex projects.Minimum Requirements: Relevant Tertiary Degree.Attention to detail and an appetite to learn and develop technical skills relevant to environmental assessment.Desire to understand the needs and goals of our clients and work collaboratively in a leading role as part of a team.Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (requires Australian Citizenship).Jacobs.
