About the role: We are looking for someone who has at least five years' experience as an energy market analyst, consultant or trader with previous exposure to electricity financial markets.
You will develop and implement approaches to the management of energy market risks for large commercial and industrial customers and renewable energy generators. You will work closely on the design and modelling of energy contract structures, and interact with clients to implement long-term risk management strategies tailored to their specific risk appetite, portfolios and operational capabilities bringing the team's forward-looking view on energy market conditions.
You will manage client relationships and, as a project manager, the delivery of client work, co-ordinating the work of team members, managing the project budget and ensuring we support our clients to reach their clean energy goals.
Our services: Energy commodity procurement and risk management : We actively manage a range of 100+GWh p.a. portfolio positions by progressively purchasing short-term hedges in both the energy and environmental commodities markets and managing our clients' time-to-market risk in volatile market conditions. Renewable energy transactions : Our team advises buyers, sourcing and negotiating corporate renewable Power Purchase Agreements under the form of financial contracts-for-difference or retailer-intermediated structured products. Market, energy portfolio and hedging strategy : We advise renewable energy investors and developers, facilitate market entry, conduct investment due diligence, guide risk-return trade-off decisions for new renewable energy and storage products, and shape portfolio investment strategies. What do I need to be successful in this role? You will meet 3 pre-requisite requirements :
5 years' experience in energy markets, especially power markets. Demonstrated quantitative skillset, working with or managing advanced risk analytics. Proven advanced MS Excel and Python programming skills. Project management experience: managing quality, budget, timelines and project risks to the satisfaction of the clients while meeting internal project performance targets. Enthusiasm and genuine interest in energy markets and electricity financial markets. Confident interpersonal skills as you will be liaising with senior management. Excellent communication skills, able to communicate concisely and accurately. Our team is multi-disciplinary.
