The company
We are currently partnering with a leading West Australian company who are experts in the carbon offset consulting industry.
They help organisations to deliver on their environmental promises by providing revegetation / reforestation projects that generate Australian Carbon Credit Units and produce long term, sustainable, biodiverse ecosystems for the benefit of Australian ecology and our communities.
The Role
Due to their success and continued growth of the business there is now an opportunity for an additional, experienced project manager to join their team and assist with delivering projects for both existing and new clients.
This is an exciting, diverse and challenging role with plenty of variety and scope to achieving something meaningful and make a difference to the environment for current and future generations.
You will be involved in the full spectrum of the project including Site selection & preparation, plant selection & supply, planting & implementation, monitoring & maintenance.
You will liaise with stakeholders and clients, manage a project delivery team, and travel to remote areas in W.A to oversee projects during the winter planting season and regular occasions throughout the year.
The Responsibilities: Project Planning: Develop and implement revegetation and reforestation projects, from site selection to final execution. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, fostering positive relationships for project success. Site Management: Conduct site assessments, manage planting, and oversee maintenance. Budgeting: Control project budgets, allocate resources, and coordinate with procurement. Monitoring and Reporting: Set up performance tracking systems and prepare detailed project reports. The Experience:
You may have previous experience in the carbon offset, revegetation, forestry or agricultural sectors, or you may be a botanist, ecologist or environmental scientist with some project management experience, but to be successful in this role you will ideally need:
Previous experience working in a field-based role.A BSc in an Environmental related subject (preferred, but not essential)Around 5 to 10 + years relevant experience including project management.Subcontractor management ability.Good organisation, budgeting, and planning experience.To be independent and self-motivated, with strong adaptability in dynamic environment.Good communication skills and capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.A positive attitude and the ability to fit in well with a small, friendly team of professionals. This role will require travel to sites within W.A at regular times throughout the year including extended time in the field to oversee projects during the winter planting season (May to July / August)
You may be on site for 5 – 8 days at a time, staying in comfortable accommodation, with all expenses covered and earning Time in Lieu, but this is not an office / desk job and if you are not able to travel and spend time in the field, it's not for you.
The Benefits Good salary – negotiable depending on level of experience.
