We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Environmental Planner to join our team.
This role is crucial in implementing AAL's development vision through the identification, remediation, and delivery of environmental outcomes across Adelaide and Parafield Airports.
The position provides technical advice on a range of environmental matters to support effective planning and guidelines for development.
The successful candidate will:
Support the development of sustainable precincts and sites in line with AAL's sustainability targets.Provide technical support to project teams and coordinate with AAL's Sustainability team.Support the planning, approvals, and development of Adelaide and Parafield Airports commercial precincts through the identification, remediation, and delivery of environmental outcomes, aligned with relevant regulatory requirements, AAL's Environment Strategy, and AAL's Sustainability Strategy.Coordinate and deliver environmental site assessments and/or geotechnical assessments to inform future development.Develop and coordinate remediation plans, where applicable.Provide and coordinate technical advice on a range of environmental considerations to inform planning and prepare guidelines for future development, ad-hoc projects, and enquiries from across the business, including but not limited to:Soil managementGround noise managementAir quality managementWaste managementStormwater qualityLandscapingClimate change / SustainabilityManage projects to achieve quality, program, and budget outcomes as required, including coordination and supervision of consultants and contractors.The Environmental Planner is a passionate professional who thrives in a busy and supportive work environment.
As part of the close-knit Airport Planning team, within the broader Planning and Infrastructure business unit, you are a positive and motivated team player.
You proactively nurture relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and possess excellent attention to detail, a logical and positive approach to solving problems, are commercially astute, and exhibit high verbal and written communication competency.
You have a collaborative and adaptable approach to prioritizing your work, with the confidence to support and influence stakeholders of all levels.
Additionally, you have high-level computer skills and a sound knowledge of the Microsoft suite of packages.
You will possess a detailed understanding of environmental regulations and best practices, supported by tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/Engineering, Natural Resource/Environmental Management, or an equivalent field.
With at least 10 years of industry and/or consulting experience in environmental science, management, or engineering, you will be adept at managing environmental and sustainability projects.
This includes achieving quality, program, and budget outcomes, as well as coordinating and supervising consultants and contractors.
The Environmental Planner will have demonstrated experience in interpreting technical information, including GIS mapping, and communicating the information in a manner which can be understood by all stakeholders.
Previous experience working with town planning, development approvals and compliance, and/or experience in the aviation sector and/or understanding of airport legislation concerning environmental management requirements will be advantageous.
