About the Role:In this role, you will contribute to the timely, effective and efficient environmental services to Customer Operations to ensure operational and maintenance activities are delivered within the framework of Sydney Water's Environmental Management System.Key Responsibilities:Apply environmental management practices to Sydney Water's operations to improve business, customer and environmental outcomes. Determine appropriate environmental approval pathways and ensure assessments and plans are prepared in accordance with environmental legislative requirements and delegations.Secure appropriate environmental approvals, licences and permits.Undertake auditing and regulatory and internal reporting as required.Maintain a strong awareness of relevant environmental planning legislation and as it pertains to Sydney Water's operations.Contribute to building the knowledge and awareness of environmental planning and management activities within operations.Provide timely, accurate and high-quality environmental planning and management advice in response to information requests.Complete allocated planning tasks, within required timeframes and compliant with procedures.Mentor and provide on-the-job training to graduates or students.Provide environmental planning and management advice to enable Customer Experience to undertake its activities in accordance with legal requirements, regulatory standards and Sydney Water's Environmental Management System (EMS).Contribute to the adherence to and maintenance and review of Sydney Water's Environmental Management System, including the ongoing review of procedures, policies and practices, relevant environmental regulatory standards and environmental legislation.About You:We are looking for someone that is adaptive to working in a fast-paced operational environment and can confidently work across a variety of multi-discipline teams. The ideal candidate will have:Tertiary qualifications in environmental science/environmental management (or other relevant discipline).Approximately 3 years relevant industry experience in environmental impact assessment for infrastructure assets.Ability to identify, develop strategies for and manage environmental issues associated with the planning, delivery and/or operation of both large and small-scale civil engineering projects.ISO 14001 Environmental Management System qualifications desirable.Lead auditor qualifications desirable.PRINCE2 Practitioner (or similar) qualifications desirable.
