The Environmental Officer position will support the functions of the Development & Stakeholders team by providing technical environmental advice, support and assistance to Vena's range of renewable energy projects across Australia that are under development, shovel ready, in construction and operational.
The role is based in Vena Energy's head Australian office in Brisbane, but will require some travel to our project sites to undertake audits and field work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES •Assisting the Development and Stakeholder team's obligation to ensure Vena Energy's projects are meeting their desired environmental outcomes;
•Providing technical advice on environmental matters associated with the development, construction and operation of Vena Energy projects;
•Advising on new approaches to improving Environmental Performances and environmental reporting;
•Prepare, review and where required implement Environmental Management Plans associated with the development/construction and operation of Vena Energy projects;
•Assist in developing and maintaining ESG/Sustainability Reporting including but not limited to energy and GHG data reporting in accordance with Vena Energy requirements;
•Assist with preparing, reviewing and maintaining environmental impacts reporting, and risk registers, including undertaking environmental audits;
•Assist with coordinating and implementing sustainability awareness and energy reduction initiatives;
•Participation with the implementation of community consultation programs and project engagement associated with the development, construction and operation of our projects;
•Assist with the preparation and analysis of environmental projects briefs, work scopes, tender specifications and associated documentation for implementation by contractors and service providers; and
•Assist with the preparation and undertaking of field work as required, including participation in environmental and cultural heritage field surveys.
EDUCATION •A Bachelor or Postgraduate of Environmental Management or simila
Experience •1-3 years knowledge and experience in Environmental Sustainability, Environmental Management in development, construction operations for large scale industrial, power or construction projects;
•Valid unrestricted Australian Driver's License.
