Environmental Officer - Climate Change and Water & Senior Climate ChangeAre you passionate about making a difference in the face of climate change?
Do you have a strong background in hydrology and water resource management?
If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! The Department is looking to establish a talent pool to fill immediate and future vacancies for Environmental Officer – Climate Change and Water (Specified Calling Level 2) and Senior Climate Change and Water Specialist (Specified Calling Level 3) within our Hydrology and Climate Science Team.
A full-time position is available for immediate start until 30 June 2025, with possibility of extension and/or permanency.
Environmental Officer – Climate Change and Water - Specified Calling Level 2The Climate Change and Water Environmental Officer has primary responsibility for supporting the hydroclimate team to deliver the outcomes of the Climate Adaptation Strategy research communication and research initiative, which aims to build upon the understanding of how climate change impacts Western Australia's water resources.
The role will include research and consolidation of the current knowledge of Western Australia's changing climate, identifying gaps in climate science and modelling relevant to Western Australia and undertaking projects to contribute new analysis and research to provide new information on both climate and water system drivers.
Senior Climate Change and Water Specialist - Specified Calling Level 3The primary role of this position is to support the application of climate change science into the water resource management sector of WA.
This role is responsible for climate, hydrology, and water resource research application to build our understanding of how climate change will impact our water resources, providing a foundation for long-term planning and climate change adaptation in water management across WA.
This senior-level role uses considerable knowledge and experience, contributing to operational and strategic outcomes.
