Share your specialist knowledge and expertise in the field of environmental management with the team delivering the Territory's enabling infrastructure projects.The Northern Territory Government has set an ambitious goal to become a $40 billion economy by 2030, through increased private sector investment to grow key industries, jobs and create sustainable businesses. As part of this initiative, Infrastructure NT, the Northern Territory's infrastructure body, undertakes strategic infrastructure planning and development that coordinates and aligns infrastructure needs with economic and population growth, and delivers nationally significant infrastructure projects.To support this initiative, Infrastructure NT are recruiting experienced environmental professionals for the Adelaide River Off-stream Water Storage (AROWS) and Middle Arm Sustainable Development Precinct (MASDP) projects.Roles and ResponsibilitiesAs an Environmental Manager in either the AROWS or MASDP project, you will provide expert environmental advice on matters relating to the management of terrestrial and marine/aquatic impacts, ensuring compliance to the Northern Territory and Commonwealth legislation. You will apply your specialist knowledge in environmental management to develop management strategies that address environmental issues, maintain collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders, prepare work scopes and briefs, and monitor the performance of consultants. In addition, you will be required to manage the preparation of cost estimates, recommend cost effective solutions and contribute to the development of offset and relocation strategies.Appointments at the SP1 level require a Bachelor degree or higher in environmental science or similar, supported by demonstrated high-level experience in the field of environmental management.As an Environment Officer for the MASDP project, your primary objective is to provide expert advice to senior management, project managers and key stakeholders in addressing strategic environmental issues required to support the development of industries on the Middle Arm peninsula, ensuring compliance to the Northern Territory and Commonwealth legislation. In addition, you will assist with developing environmental management strategies and solutions to address peninsula-wide environmental issues, obtain approvals for NTG works and inform master planning for the Middle Arm peninsula.Appointments at the P3 level require a degree qualification in environmental planning, natural resource management, environmental engineering, natural science or similar.Both positions require demonstrated high level written and oral communications skills with the ability to consult, negotiate and liaise with a diverse group of stakeholders.BenefitsIn return, you'll receive a competitive remuneration package, inclusive of 11.5% superannuation, 6 weeks' recreational and 3 weeks' personal leave, 17.5% annual leave allowance and additional paid leave to cover the Christmas – New Year's shut-down.
