Participate in capital works, other infrastructure projects and maintenance activities as an advisor on specific environmental matters, including coordination of vegetation management activities.
To facilitate continual improvement as it applies to Transport and Infrastructure Gold Coast environmental legal compliance and performance, including environmental business efficiency.
Responsibilities include:
Undertake assessment, identify, and provide specialist advice concerning environmental legal responsibilities required for capital works projects during the planning, design, and delivery phases.
Provide advice, guidance, and peer-review services to project managers and asset custodians in meeting statutory requirements and corporate expectations.
Undertake environmental inspections, audits, and analyses to ensure infrastructure works comply with statutory requirements and corporate expectations.
Monitor changes in legislation and industry best practices to support an Environmental Management System framework.
Within a team coordinate planning design and approvals for landscape vegetation elements, including turf, garden beds, and street trees.
Identify and respond to requests for tree works.
When tree works are required, these are processed in view of City contracts, using City processes, e.g., raising work orders to engage contractors.
Advocate for City interests at vegetation forums, both internal and external to the City.
Liaise with a wide range of City and some external personnel.
Work closely with other business units to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation.

Having a working knowledge of a recognised tree risk assessment tool is desirable.
Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience.
Hold a Current 'C' class driver's licence.
