Competitive salary package of between $103,446.74 and $112,563.70 total remuneration per annum that includes 11.5% super and annual leave loading

Join our Planning and Environmental Health unit and contribute significantly to promoting, facilitating, and safeguarding public health within the Shire. As the Environmental Health Officer , you will be key in coordinating development that aligns with the Council's planning and environmental policies. What a typical day will look like;

Provide quality advice on all aspects of public health and assist in the development and on-going function of the Environmental Health team. Carry out the responsibilities of an Authorised Officer under provisions of the Food Act 1984, Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008, Environment Protection Act 2017, Tobacco Act 1987 and other regulations as required. Support and promote healthy communities and achieve regulatory compliance of environmental health activities within the Shire. Work cohesively as part of the Environmental Health team by operating in an efficient and consistent manner and providing support to staff to meet programs delivered by the Environmental Health team.

What you will bring to the role;

A tertiary qualification in Environmental Health or similar discipline and eligibility to be a member of Environmental Health Professionals Australia. Previous demonstrated experience in a similar role focusing on food safety, environmental health surveillance, septic tank inspections and investigation to ensure legislative compliance. Proven experience in communicating effectively with members of the public and working effectively within a team. Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills. Substantial experience in a customer focused work environment. Valid working with children's check.
