About this position
Are you passionate about making a difference in your community's health?
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our Health and Compliance team, aiming to deliver a customer-focused and efficient service dedicated to the community's health and welfare.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with residents and local businesses as you:
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
Grant approvals for various projects and initiatives.
Implement sampling programs to monitor environmental conditions.
Investigate complaints and provide solutions.
Offer expert advice on a range of environmental health issues.
What we are looking for
To be successful you must be able to demonstrate:
Technical expertise as a qualified Environmental Health Officer and ability to confidently navigate relevant information technology programs and applications.
Proven track record of working within relevant legislation, ensuring compliance and promoting best practices in environmental health.
Well-honed written and verbal communication skills.
Current driver's licence.
Environmental Health Officer qualification (as required by Section 18 of the Public Health Act 2016), and relevant experience
Noise authorisation under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (requirement for Level 6)
Current Police Clearance (less than three months old).Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
