About the roleThe Environmental Health Officer works in the Public Health team to administer and implement the legislative requirements contained within the Food Act, Public Health & Wellbeing Act, Environment Protection Act and Tobacco Act as delegated by Council.Other responsibilities include:Conduct food safety assessments of registered food businesses.Apply Acts, associated regulations and codes to relevant premises through inspections, sampling, advice and education.Investigate and report complaints received from the public and take necessary remedial action.Issue notices and the required enforcement action to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.About youWe are looking for a collaborative and flexible team member with a passion for public and environmental health, and who thrives on working with local communities.You have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with complaints, analyse issues and come up with solutions to create positive outcomes.
