Environmental Health Officer

Leading Australian Bank Multiple 12 month fixed-term contract opportunities with possibility of extension Market leading remuneration on offer The position of Environmental Health Officer is offered on a temporary full time basis for a period of up to six (6) months).
Reporting to the Team Leader Environmental Health, the primary focus of the position will be to; 1.
Investigate complaints, undertake and confer as necessary with the Team Leader Environmental Health in the assessment of applications and referrals made under the requirements of the Local Government Act, 1993 (NSW), Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997, Public Health Act 2010, Food Act 2003, Swimming Pools Act 1992 – Swimming Pools Amendment Act 2012, the POEO – Underground Petroleum Storage Systems (UPSS) Regulations 2019 and other relevant Acts and Regulations.

General EHO duties including onsite wastewater Background information / Compatibility requirements The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following: • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health or a relevant discipline.
• Ability to solve problems and work with minimum supervision in a team environment in relation to public health requirements and associated regulatory activities, enforcement and assessment processes.
• Current Class C Driver's Licence.
• Experience and knowledge in the operation of on-site sewage management systems would be advantageous.
