The project will deliver a major upgrade of the M80 Ring Road between the M80-Plenty Road interchange and the North East Link tunnel entrance at Watsonia, providing a seamless connection to North East Link. Works includes the construction of 14 kilometres of new lanes, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.Key accountabilities for the positionImplementation of Environment Policy, Procedures and Legislative RequirementsAssist with the implementation of internal and external audits findings (Improvement Opportunities, Non-Conformances).Develop and maintain key relationships with other project functionsImplementation of measures to ensure compliance with project approvals, management plans and proceduresConduct regular environmental and sustainability inspections and contribute to client and stakeholder inspections and auditsConduct environmental monitoring, as required including noise, vibration, water and air qualityMonitoring environmental consultants during site works including contaminated land, ecologists and fauna handlersCollection and maintenance of environmental reports and monitoring dataDevelopment and delivery of environmental training, toolboxes and inductionsPlanning for upcoming night works including noise modelling and analysis of noise monitoring resultsInvestigation and monitoring following community environmental complaintsAssist with managing compliance with Environmental Performance Requirements (EPRs)Required Skills and CompetenciesTertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or EquivalentExperienced working out on site to support ongoing construction activitiesWorking knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001)Working knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations and best practice publications.ACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023 & 2024 certification in Australia, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
