The role of Environmental Consultant is to provide a full-time resource into the NSW/ACT Environment team to deliver work as part of the current and future environment pipeline. The role would primarily involve working to coordinate an ongoing package of works for one of our key clients, Sydney Water. This role is permanent full time.
The successful candidate would interface directly with Sydney Water staff and be supported by an internal Arup team of eight people working to deliver environmental approvals. The successful candidate must have at least 3 - 5 years of experience in delivering Reviews of Environmental Factors (REFs) in NSW. The role would also involve supporting a number of critical energy maritime and transport infrastructure projects as well as supporting key strategic relationships with other key clients such as Transgrid and Transport for NSW. The successful candidate will be well supported via training and mentorship and there are plenty of opportunities for growth, development, and career progression.
The Opportunity Carry out environmental assessments (primarily REFs but also EISs), development assessments, strategic assessments, technical coordination, design development and nature-based solutions for various projects. Help drive the business' transformational aspirations across Nature Positive, Natural Capital and Net Zero. Represent the team at internal meetings and you may be responsible for organising events, activities or small internal business projects. Work alongside our major clients to create key strategic relationships. Assist others with their work and ensure that deadlines are met. Is this role right for you? Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in science, environment, planning, engineering, or similar area. Relevant industry experience (3 years or more) in NSW environment impact assessment or planning approvals. Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership. Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines. Demonstrates developing skills in project management and/or a design, technical or professional specialisation. What we offer you
