Environmental Engineer (Contaminated Land) - Greater Sydney AreaDue to significant growth in the contaminated land industry, Canopy Enterprises are expanding our team in the Greater Sydney area and are seeking to fill a position for an Environmental Engineer/Contaminated Land Scientist with up to five years' experience. This new and exciting opportunity will suit an appropriately qualified and experienced environmental scientist/engineer currently living in the Greater Sydney area. Primarily WFH with fieldworks undertaken 2 days a week. A 4 day week (pro-rata) is available on request.To be successful in this role, you are expected to have:Experience in Contaminated Land or environmental based field Assessments (fieldworks through to final reporting phase).Preferred 3+ years experience in Contaminated Land Management and Remediation, Waste Classification and Acid Sulfate Soils Assessment.Industry-based certification such as CEnvP (or equivalent) will be viewed favourably.You must demonstrate a capacity to work autonomously in an effective and disciplined manner for both the fieldworks and the reporting component on smaller projects.You will be supervised and mentored by our CEnvP (SC) certified Principal Environmental Engineer, who also holds a PhD in petroleum engineering, during your probationary period and subsequently on larger and more complex projects.Proficient computer skills with an ability to independently prepare and format detailed environmental reports, inclusive of tabling laboratory analysis data, ProUCl etc.Proficient verbal and written communication skills and have good social skills.Commitment to developing strong technical knowledge.Capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Ability to work independently as well as in a team with other professionals or project stakeholders.More details:Applicant must currently live in Greater Sydney.You will work primarily from your home office for the reporting tasks, with your salary being complemented by a generous home office allowance. (Home environmental must however be suitable for standard business hours).Regular group cyber and face-to-face meetings with colleagues.A 4 day week is available (pro rata) to complement study or other requirements if desired.
