The Future Generation Joint Venture The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world. Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This iconic project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.
Purpose of the Role: To ensure that FGJV maintains a robust Environmental Management System for all personnel, in accordance with the approved Environmental Protection License #21266, Conditions of Consent Environmental Management Strategy and Environmental Management Plans and client specifications.
Qualifications: Tertiary Environmental Management Qualifications or related discipline. White Card. C Class driver's license. Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role – preferred. Experience in working on large-scale construction projects or other suitable project works. Building strong working relationships with construction personnel, client and stakeholder representatives to achieve sound environmental outcomes. Required Competencies: Problem solving , interpretation, reasoning, and judgement skills with an ability to identify and solve complex problems. Genuine commitment and proactive approach to environmental management and procedures. Strong initiative and proactive nature. Key collaborative skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Well-developed time management skills. High attention to detail. Genuine commitment and proactive approach to site safety processes and practices. Confident decision-making ability. Excellent report writing skills. Investigation, analysis, preparation and delivery of Incident Investigation reports. Exceptional knowledge and ability in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Provide advice and support to the construction management team(s) to ensure compliance with statutory, FGJV and client Environmental obligations. Implementation of Environmental Management Strategy, EMPs and subsidiary systems documentation. Communication of Environmental issues, standards, and procedures. Assist in the development and maintenance of the Area Environmental Inspection and Audit Schedule. Undertake and participate in daily and weekly Environmental Inspections and initiatives, including but not necessarily limited to: Weekly Internal and SHL Environmental Inspections. Internal, SHL & External Environmental Audits. Liaise with the area Environment support crew to ensure they are properly resourced to implement and maintain the site-based environmental controls. Assist in identifying Environmental training requirements. Incident Classification, notification, and analysis of Environmental Incidents, Investigation, Analysis and Reporting. Ensure all incident event investigations, and close out of corrective actions. Promote a dynamic and positive Environmental culture focused on achieving success.
