In this role, you will facilitate construction while promoting environmental protection and enhancement, ensuring the project's environmental and statutory requirements, targets, and objectives are met.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the design and implementation of environmental controls to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and minimize environmental impact.Work closely with the construction team to proactively identify and address environmental issues, aiding in the achievement of project objectives.Perform regular environmental monitoring, including erosion and sediment control inspections, water and sediment sampling, and dust monitoring.Develop and manage Construction Erosion and Sediment Control Plans, as well as Noise and Vibration Management Plans, ensuring adherence to consent requirements.Coordinate and support the overall environmental monitoring program, including compliance with Resource Consent conditions and adaptive monitoring requirements.Oversee environmental contractors and suppliers, ensuring effective management of waste, equipment, and monitoring services.Assist in responding to environmental compliance breaches, contributing to reports and investigations in a timely manner.Support training initiatives and foster environmental innovations, promoting best practices across the project.Minimum Skills & QualificationsPreferably 5+ years of Environmental experience within construction/engineering.Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.Experience in environmental management in High Voltage Transmission Lines – desirable but not essential.Knowledge of industry standards and best practice.Ability to deliver results in a team environment.Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation.Strong communication – written and verbal.We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all voices are heard and valued.
