We are seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join our head office team at South Bank on a 12 month fixed term contract.

About the Role: The Environmental Advisor will support BUMA Australia's environmental compliance and sustainability efforts across operational sites, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
This role involves providing technical advice, assisting with audits and inspections, and contributing to environmental risk mitigation strategies in line with BUMA's ESG objectives.
The Environmental Advisor works closely with site teams and other stakeholders to promote compliance and environmental responsibility.
Key responsibilities include: Regulatory Compliance and Assurance Support the coordination of compliance audits and inspections, and monitoring programs across sites.
Assist in preparing reports for regulatory bodies and facilitating communication regarding site inspections and compliance.
Environmental Systems and Policy Development Assist in the maintenance and improvement of BUMA Australia's Environmental Management System (EMS), aligning with ISO 14001 standards.
Contribute to the development and implementation of environmental policies and procedures.
Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting Collaborate with internal teams, including the ESG team and site leaders, to ensure environmental compliance is integrated into daily operations.
Assist in preparing compliance reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
Training and Capacity Building Support the delivery of training programs to ensure teams are informed about environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
Provide day-to-day guidance to site-based environmental teams, fostering best practices and knowledge sharing.
About You: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental management, or a related field.
2 – 5 years' experience in environmental compliance, preferably in the mining, construction or heavy industry sectors.
Familiarity with Australian environmental regulations and standards.
Working knowledge of Australian reporting frameworks and standards including NGERS, NPI and ASRS.
Working understanding of environmental management systems and data analysis.
Ability to collaborate with site teams and effectively communicate compliance requirements.
Analytical approach to identifying and addressing environmental risks.
Ability to adjust to changes in regulations and operational demands.
