Partnering with Sydney Water, we are committed to transforming this iconic area, providing the community with the clean, blue backyard it deserves by improving harbour and coastal water quality and protecting the health of both the community and the marine ecosystem.As an Environmental Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the project meets NSW environmental regulations, sustainability goals, and best practices. You'll collaborate closely with project teams to monitor and manage environmental impacts, contribute to risk assessments, and ensure we exceed regulatory and legal obligations. Your involvement will help drive sustainability efforts that not only protect the local environment but also elevate the overall project outcome.Day to day, you will: Provide operational environmental and sustainability guidance across the project, fostering a culture of best practice and compliance. Develop, review, and support construction environmental management plans, environmental risk assessments, and sustainability management plans. Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and audits, investigating any incidents to ensure prompt resolution. Identify and manage environmental and sustainability risks while ensuring compliance with all obligations. Offer technical environmental and sustainability input to support the tender process. Educate and build our project teams' knowledge of environmental and sustainability requirements. Liaise with clients, government bodies, and regulatory authorities on all environmental and sustainability matters. Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators for sustainability and environmental objectives throughout the project lifecycle. What you'll bring to the team: Qualifications in Environmental Science or a related discipline, with in-depth knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks. Experience in environmental advisory roles within Construction, ideally with a strong background in Water Infrastructure projects. Proven expertise in applying and managing environmental standards, particularly ISO 14001, across complex, high-profile projects. Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams, clients, and regulatory bodies. A strategic mindset with the ability to foresee environmental risks, implement proactive solutions, and ensure the highest standards of environmental compliance and sustainability are met. A track record of driving project success, ensuring that environmental objectives are fully integrated into broader project goals while fostering a culture of environmental excellence.
