About the role You will be reporting to the Environmental Specialist onsite. You will play a multifaceted and key role in providing safe and efficient environmental management and environmental compliance for the operations. Key Responsibilities include: Execute FMO and operational site targets to facilitate continuous improvement in environmental performance. Provide strategic advice and support on environmental aspects, including responsibility for day-to-day environmental operations. Implement and maintain the site environmental management system. Develop and review the application of new procedures, processes, methodologies, and technologies where necessary. Identify environmental risks and monitor the effectiveness of agreed controls. Coordinate and undertake site monitoring programs, data collection and analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with obligations, commitments, and company requirements. Assist with the completion of internal and external reporting requirements. Ensure all necessary records are collated and filed in accordance with internal and external procedures and policy. Manage contractors and consultants in accordance with the operation specific contractor management requirements. Report non-compliances through the established reporting systems. Lead investigations relevant to internal environmental incidents, as well as support investigations for externally reportable incidents. Participate in assurance activities such as audits, reports and reviews that monitor environmental performance. Implement any corrective actions identified through risk management processes including incidents (internal / external), audits etc. Maintain the site environmental budget (operational cost & capital) and complete monthly reporting requirements (forecast, commitment journals). Develop, implement, and communicate operational specific environmental training and awareness programs.
