This role supports the Environmental team to maintain compliance with relevant legislative requirements and plays a vital role in ensuring sustainable mining operations at Granny Smith.As an employee at Gold Fields, we expect all levels of employees to act in a manner that aligns with and enhances our values, safety culture and performance, whilst working towards Gold Fields' purpose of creating enduring value beyond mining.This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth.Benefits include:Quarterly Bonus SchemeSalary sacrifice optionsIncreased annual leave entitlementsEmployee Assistance ProgramLong service leave pro rata after 5 years of continuous serviceAbout the role:Partner with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver the environmental management plan (particularly with regards to land disturbance, water, waste and biodiversity management);Ensure effective controls to manage compliance with legislative and company obligations;Contribute to sustainable mining by assisting with continuous improvement and maintenance of the site's ISO14001 certified Environmental Management System;Coordinate and undertake site monitoring programs, data collection and analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with legal and other requirements;Assist with closure and rehabilitation activities, including studies, implementation and closure monitoring;Advise on and assist with approvals for operations.About you:Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or related discipline.An understanding of Western Australia legislation (DEMIRS, DWER, DBCA).Intermediate level of competency in Microsoft Office.Experience in ArcGIS and UAV Remote Pilot Licence is desirable.Proven experience in an environmental function within the mining sector.Gold Fields is committed to achieving an inclusive workforce.
