THE ROLE Join a dedicated, enthusiastic team where you'll report to the Environment Principal in a role that combines passion with purpose.
With no two days the same, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge, and gain valuable experience across a broad range of environmental management fields.
At this site, you will be involved in environmental improvement on a large scale.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Spearheading environmental improvement projects that address key areas such as air quality, water management, waste reduction, and safe handling of hazardous materials; Assisting in the administration of the site environmental permit, including compliance reporting and liaising with regulatory bodies; Performing risk assessments, contributing environmental insights to design reviews, and participating in project studies; Analysing environmental monitoring data to identify trends and opportunities for improvements; Investigating environmental incidents and developing strategies to prevent future occurrences; Coordinating with consultants on monitoring and technical projects; Engaging with local communities to address environmental concerns and foster positive relationships; Elevating environmental understanding and practices across the site through effective communication and technical advice.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: You do need a degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related discipline to fill this role.
Other skills we are after include: Ability to troubleshoot and develop practical solutions; Strong written skills for technical reports; Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders; Attention to detail; Knowledge of waste management and environmental chemistry; Willingness to be part of the solution.
